Michael Sven Vedvik of Kent, Wash. died Feb. 2. His obituary, printed in The Spokesman-Review, blames the Seahawks and their final offensive play call for his death.
Vedvik’s sister wrote the obituary and said her husband added the final line. Vedvik’s wife, Stephanie, approved.
“My husband would have thought it was hysterical,” Stephanie Vedvik told The Spokesman-Review. “If I had read this obituary to my husband about somebody else, he would have had a laugh.”
Michael Vedvik suffered a heart attack shortly after the game’s conclusion, but never actually watched Super Bowl XLIX. He was recording the game with intentions of watching it later
But if he had watched the game, Stephanie Vedvik said the last line would be even more perfect for her husband’s obituary.
“It was just so true because my husband would have said, ‘What a dumbass.’”
