The Hall of Fame defensive lineman was bitten by a shark while lobstering in the Florida Keys, suffering a pretty sizeable gash on his elbow.

Sapp went to grab a lobster when he was bitten by the shark, which witnesses believe was about 4 feet long. 

“The sharks hang around those lobster holes, because they feed on the lobster as well,” the captain of the boat, Jack Carlson, told TampaBay.com.

Carlson said Sapp “may need stitches,” but will be “OK.”

“The shark wanted the lobster just as bad as Sapp,” he later wrote on Instagram. “Sapp got the lobster and the Shark got his lick in too.”
